Pelu is a serial healthcare entrepreneur living in San Francisco. Prior to founding his first company Augmedix in 2012, Pelu studied both Medicine and Engineering at Stanford University. Working in his community’s hospitals and clinics, he saw medical students and physicians struggling under the increasing burden of electronic documentation and red tape at the expense of their patients. He was four months away from receiving his MD from Stanford when he dropped out to found Augmedix. As Co-founder and President, Pelu created the product and customer vision at Augmedix and grew the company to over 1,000 employees in five countries and $20M in annual revenue. In 2017 he founded his second company, Ferrum - an automated quality system that uses AI to identify and eliminate medical errors before they harm the patient.
Pelu is Technology Pioneer of the Davos World Economic Forum, a Fellow at the UN World Summit on Innovation, a member of the Forbes Healthcare 30 under 30, an Aspen Institute Scholar, and a Johns Hopkins CTY Distinguished Alumni.
